Stitchsize is a free independent cross-stitch fabric calculator with centimetre and inch outputs.

The supported model

One chart has a whole-number stitch width and height. One uniform fabric count applies in both directions, and every stitch spans either one or two fabric grid intervals. A user-selected border is added to all four sides.

The calculator shows design size, required cut size and upward-rounded shopping alternatives. An optional existing-piece check uses exact dimension comparisons and considers 90-degree rotation only when requested.

What the inputs decide

The starting count and border demonstrate the calculation. They are not material or finishing recommendations. No shrinkage, hem, mounting or framing allowance is added automatically. Measurements accept up to four decimal places; chart dimensions must be whole stitches.

Local calculations
